“Today we come together in the City of Riverside to remember those who lost their lives on 9/11.
And in their memory we commit to being our very best selves and to serving our community.
For it is in service that we Find honor and peace.”
The City of Riverside will be hosting a Day of Service on 9/11/15. The day will begin with a fundraising breakfast event for the Riverside Police and Fire Foundations at City Hall. The day will conclude with a closing ceremony program at La Sierra University.
Events for the day will include blood drives and CPR demos around Riverside, as well as an organized clean-up event with Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful.
The closing ceremony will include music from Martin Luther King High School Band, La Sierra High School Band, Hillcrest Show Choir, and the La Sierra University Department of Music. La Sierra University’s President Wisbey will be there to welcome guests. Mayor Rusty Bailey will be introducing Dave Lesh (retired Division Cheif), 9/11/2011 First Responder, and reflecting about the events of that day and how it impacts us in the present.
Join the City of Riverside in this day of service and reflection.
